Carmarthen-based jazz trio Glasshouse formed in late 2021 with the intention to play ‘Spontaneous Melodic Improvisations’. As part of their live performance the band involves the audience by asking them to choose the flavour of some pieces, which they then improvise on the spot. Ian Mann (The Jazz Mann) described Glasshouse’s music as, ‘Blurring the lines between composition and improvisation, this was free jazz as you’ve never heard it before, with grooves you could tap your feet to and melodies you could whistle’.
